Extreme Wide-Angle Perspective
The Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 II lens offers an impressive 116.6° ultra-wide angle-of-view when used with full-frame cameras so you can capture every piece of the action. Ideal for sweeping landscapes and dramatic scenes, the ultra-wide-angle gives you greater compositional flexibility for unique shots.
F/2.8 Maximum Aperture
With a large maximum F2.8 aperture, you can capture scenes in low light environments and fast action in sharp relief. Without the need for drastically-high ISO settings, the Samyang 14/2.8 lens makes it easy to produce images with minimal grain and blur, perfect for night events and even sports.
Aspherical and Extra-Low Dispersion Elements
The optical design uses 15 glass elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical elements, to minimise distortions and spherical aberrations, reducing peripheral blur to produce edge to edge sharpness. Two extra-low dispersion glass elements control chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to ensure high contrast images so you don’t lose detail when shooting in bright conditions.
Anti-Reflective Ultra Multi-Coating
Samyang’s Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) on the lens elements suppresses surface reflections and minimises flare and ghosting, particularly when subjects are backlit or under harsh lighting. The Ultra Multi Coating works to enhance the lens’ optical construction and an integrated lens hood to produce higher contrast and crisper images.
Fast and Reliable Auto Focus
The Samyang 14mm f/2.8 E Mount Lens features quiet autofocus which electronically couples with the camera body to provide quick, accurate, and precise AF control great for capturing moving subjects. This compatibility with the camera’s phase detection and contrast detection sensors ensure fast and accurate focus detection, perfect for isolating and capturing the right moment in a wide shot. For maximum sharpness and greater creative flexibility, manual focus override is available for refining focus in AF mode.
Internal Focusing Mechanism
Thanks to the internal focusing mechanism, the lens can focus without any change to its overall length. It also offers faster autofocus while minimising focus breathing, maintaining the quality and composition of your photos as you focus on subjects at different focal lengths.
7-Blade Rounded Aperture
The wide aperture of the Samyang 14mm lens offers good shallow depth of field control. While focussing on subjects with precision, the lens has a 7-blade round aperture capable of a smooth background bokeh effect that softens the tone of your photos and draws attention to your subject. This also creates a 14-point sun star effect which can add character to your landscape images.
