An impressively wide and fast lens, the LEICA - SUMMILUX-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH - Black  is a versatile M-mount prime delivering exceptional image quality. The super wide-angle focal length is complemented by the use of five anomalous partial dispersion and a pair of aspherical elements to suppress chromatic and spherical aberrations in order to deliver a high degree of sharpness and clarity with well-controlled vignetting and distortion. The optical design also incorporates a floating elements system to provide consistent image quality throughout the focusing range.

Two aspherical elements suppress spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness

Male threaded

The front of the lens is male threaded to accept the included lens hood and the hood is designed to accept Series 8 filters

Five anomalous partial dispersion elements

Five anomalous partial dispersion elements reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for increased clarity as well as consistent, even illumination and well-corrected vignetting

The Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH is the first and only lens with this size and lens speed. The outstanding quality, large angles, and compact dimensions make it a versatile performer. It works from full aperture – with an extremely shallow depth of field and a subject separated from the background - to a medium stop which can sharply and effectively reproduce entire scenes

Technical details

The Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH consists of ten lenses in eight groups and incorporates five separate lenses with anomalous partial dispersion. As a result, vignetting and distortion are both excellently corrected. The floating element retains the lenses’ high resolution, even in the close-up range. A patented, rectangular lens hood fits Series VIII filters
