The Canon RF 2X Extender is an attachment that extends the reach of RF-mount lenses, giving them 2x the effective focal length. When attached, the extender effectively doubles the reach of the lens, allowing it to be used in situations where the lens’s native focal length would be insufficient. For example, a 50mm RF-mount lens with the RF 2X Extender attached will effectively become a 100mm lens.

The Canon RF 2X Extender effectively doubles the focal length of an RP-mount lens attached to it. This is done by using optical elements to magnify the image formed by the lens by 2x, which increases the effective focal length of the lens.

The Canon RF 2X Extender is compatible with any RF-mount lens with a minimum lens speed of f/4 or faster. It is not compatible with EF-mount or other lenses.
