The Canon's GPS Receiver GP-E2 records GPS information like longitude, latitude, elevation, direction, and Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) as EXIF data on photo files using a compatible EOS camera. This lightweight, compact unit can also serves as an electronic compass or a stand-alone GPS recorder. It was designed for the EOS system, and offers USB and hot-shoe connections with the EOS 5D Mark III and the EOS-1D X (USB connection-only with the EOS 7D). It's also compatible with the Vixia HF G60 UHD and Rebel T5i via USB as well as the EOS Rebel T4i and Rebel SL1 via the digital terminal on each camera
The GP-E2 offers the same level of dust- and weather-resistance as the EOS 5D Mark III camera when connected to the camera's hot-shoe. Dust- and weather-resistance decreases when it's connected to the camera via the USB cable. For simple and accurate recording of time and location information, the GP-E2 is an ideal complement to the EOS System.
The GP-E2 allows you to add precise location information (latitude, longitude, and altitude) to your photographs, enabling you to organize and categorize them based on specific shooting locations.
The accessory easily attaches to the camera's hot shoe, ensuring a secure and seamless connection without the need for additional cables or accessories.
The GP-E2 features high-sensitivity GPS technology, enabling fast and accurate acquisition of satellite signals even in challenging environments such as urban areas or dense foliage.
The accessory offers time synchronization with international atomic time standards, allowing you to precisely align the timestamps of your images when using multiple cameras or collaborating with other photographers.
The GP-E2 includes an internal compass that provides directional information, as well as elevation logging that records the shooting conditions at various altitudes.
Designed to be portable and unobtrusive, the GP-E2 is compact and lightweight, making it convenient to carry and use without adding significant weight or bulk to your camera setup.
The GP-E2 is designed specifically for Canon cameras and is compatible with a wide range of models, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
