The Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Sony FE is a fast-aperture standard zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras.
Featuring an updated optical design and refined focusing system, the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 offers a versatile wide-to-portrait-length range with revamped optics yielding higher resolution and improved sharpness over the previous generation. To minimize optical aberrations to an extreme degree, LD (Low Dispersion) and GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements have been used in an optimal arrangement. This results in exceptionally good optical performance across the frame and throughout the entire zoom range with the soft, beautiful bokeh effects that are distinctive to fast-aperture lenses.
The focusing system has been replaced with a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) mechanism that achieves faster, more precise performance to suit both stills and video applications.
As the second generation of this popular lens, this updated version also sees refinements to the exterior design of the lens, a closer minimum focusing distance of 18cm, and a new connector port for streamlining the process of working with Tamron Lens Utility software to adjust lens settings.

This lens is compatible with the new TAMRON Lens Utility software developed by TAMRON. TAMRON Lens Utility can be operated using a computer by connecting the lens from its Connector Port via the optional TAMRON Connection Cable3. Users can customize the functions and update the firmware through the lens.

The all-new 28-75mm F2.8 G2 incorporates a new design that becomes the hallmark of TAMRON lenses introduced in the future. Grip texture has been improved by redesigning the striped pattern on the rubber of focusing and zoom rings. Certain internal parts have also been enhanced. The surface of the lens exterior is shiny black, much glossier than previous models. TAMRON considered customer feedback and reviewed each part and component of the lens down to the finest details.
