The SmartTag2 works with Galaxy devices(smartphones,tablets) with Android OS 9 (P OS) or higher / UWB enabled Galaxy devices and the SmartThings app. Using the app, you can track down a SmartTag2 via a map over long distances or a digital compass when it's nearby. Once you're close, use the app to make the SmartTag2 ring, so you can pinpoint its location. You can even use the SmartTag2's built-in button to find your phone by making it ring. Long-lasting, the built-in battery can last for up to 500 days, and it's made to be both dust and water-resistant.

How Does It Work?
The SmartTag2 wireless connects to nearby compatible Samsung Galaxy phones, where it uses the phone's built-in GPS and Wi-Fi to send you its location. This even works on other people's phones and maintains privacy by encrypting its signal. You can then use the SmartThings Find map in the app to track down the SmartTag2. If it's nearby, you can use Search Nearby to get guided instructions via a digital compass to track it down, and then make it ring to pinpoint its location.
Lost Mode & Location History
If the normal function of the SmartTag2 doesn't work because of signal issues or there are no nearby compatible phones to connect to, you still have the option of finding a SmartTag2. Lost Mode activates NFC within the SmartTag2 to display your registered account information to any nearby phone, regardless of its OS. It displays an email and phone number for that person to use to return what you lost. You can also attempt to locate it by using the location history to find its last known location. When all else fails, you can set the SmartThings app to notify you whenever your SmartThings2 tracker's location is ever updated.
Left Behind Notification
A convenient function of the SmartTag2 and SmartThings app is to notify you on your phone if it becomes separated from the SmartTag2 by too great a distance. It's an ideal feature when travelling with the item you have the SmartTag2 attached to.
Protection From Being Tracked
Privacy is a paramount concern when it comes to the SmartTag2. To prevent others from using a SmartTag2 to track you, the SmartThings app can be set to notify you on your phone if you begin to move at the same time as an unknown SmartTag2.
Ring Your Phone & Automation
A built-in button on the SmartTag2 tracker gives you four different abilities based on how you click it. You can activate an IoT device or launch automation, ring the paired mobile device, and turn off the notification sound when the SmartTag2 is ringing.
Long Battery Life
With a fresh battery, the SmartTag2 can run for up to 500 days. With Power Saving Mode activated, this can be extended by up to 40%. Please note that when in Power Saving Mode, the SmartTag2 is limited to Bluetooth finding functions, such as Search Nearby signal indicator and map.
