The extra length helps balance cameras with unusual weight distribution. the plate includes a single 1/4"-20 camera tie-down screw, a 1/4"-20 to 3/8"-16 adapter bushing, and two plastic video locating pins which can be used to prevent your camera from twisting on the plate.
