The current model is this exceptionally clean, pre-owned Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM Macro Zoom Lens. Suitable for distant subject matter, the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is an 88-400 mm-equivalent zoom for Canon APS-C DSLRs. This lens's long reach is enhanced by the inclusion of an Ultra-Low Dispersion element, which helps significantly reduce colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for greater clarity and colour accuracy throughout the zoom range. A Super Spectra coating is also featured, minimising flare and ghosting to produce greater contrast when working in bright lighting conditions. For photo and video applications, an STM stepping AF motor delivers quick, near-silent autofocus performance and a full-time manual focus override. A four-stop-effective Image Stabiliser system is also featured, which minimises the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting.
It is fitted with one Ultra-Low Dispersion glass element that noticeably reduces colour fringing and chromatic aberrations for high clarity and colour fidelity. Individual elements have a Super Spectra coating applied to minimise ghosting and flare, enhancing contrast and colour neutrality when working in strong lighting conditions. An optical image stabiliser helps minimise camera shake by up to 3.5 stops, enabling it to work in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds. It also has enhanced lens coatings to reduce flare and ghosting, producing true colours with maintained contrast.
An STM stepping AF motor achieves smooth, near-silent autofocus, complemented by a rear focus system, advanced AF algorithms, and a high-speed CPU for fast AF performance. Additionally, a full-time manual focus override is available. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality that benefits shallow depth-of-field and selective-focus techniques.
The filter size is 58mm. (An optional clear protective filter is recommended but not included)
