The SmallRig L-Shaped Mount Plate for Nikon Z5II 5256 is a compact, highly functional accessory designed to enhance camera handling and streamline the switch between horizontal and vertical shooting. Secured via a 1/4"-20 screw and locating pins, the plate stays firmly in place with no unwanted movement, while built-in silicone pads protect the camera body from scratches during use. Its ergonomic design also improves grip, making handheld shooting more comfortable and secure.
The L-plate features a modular structure, allowing the side plate to be removed when not needed, leaving the base plate usable on its own. Both sections are carefully engineered to avoid obstructing essential camera functions, including full access to the battery door, side ports, angled USB-C cables, and up to 105° of flip screen rotation. The side plate extends outward by 21.5mm (0.8 inches), offering ample space for cable management in portrait orientation.
For accessory mounting, the plate includes multiple 1/4"-20 threaded and locating holes, a QD socket, and strap slots—ideal for attaching microphones, shoulder straps, and tripods. It’s also optimized for safety, featuring strap slots that allow lens-down camera carry. Both the base and side plates incorporate Arca-Swiss quick release compatibility, making it easy to transition between tripods, handheld use, and gimbals like the DJI RS 2, RS 3, RS 4 series, and RSC 2. Additionally, the plate supports V-mount battery systems for longer shooting sessions and includes a magnetic flat wrench for quick, convenient setup.
