Designed for content creators, the compact Samsung T9 4TB USB 3.2 Portable SSD (Black) now delivers a sequential read speed of up to 2,000 MB/s, which is nearly double its predecessor, the T7. The sequential write speed is up to 2000 MB/s, while photographers will be happy to know that the sustained write speed is up to 1000 MB/s (after Turbowrite). The T9 now features a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port, delivering up to 20 Gb/s of max throughput. When it comes to the design, the T9 has curved diagonal lines and reverse carbon patterns, which gives its rubber surface a more fabric-like feel and a soft touch. Add low idle power consumption and reliable durability, and the T9 is ready to join in the field.
Note: To achieve maximum advertised speeds, please make sure your computer or host device is certified to support the 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connection. Apple devices, including those with Thunderbolt/USB4, do not support 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and will be limited to 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2.

In addition to the T9's impressive transfer speed of up to 2,000 MB/s, T9's Turbowrite buffer size was increased to suit the usability of content creators. For sustained performance, the T9 has a write speed up to 1,000 MB/s (after Turbowrite) without any sudden performance drops, which is essential for high-end camera users.

The T9 has five times lower power consumption in its idle state compared to competitors. Idle power consumption is important, since PSSD completes host commands quickly and drops back to idle status for the remaining time.
