Four aspherical elements reduce spherical aberrations and distortion to deliver sharp, accurate images. One extra-low dispersion element greatly reduces colour fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity. A Nano Crystal Coat, along with a Super Integrated Coating, has been applied to lens elements to minimise surface and internal reflections for a marked reduction in lens flare and ghosting.

Edge-to-Edge Brightness and Sharpness

Using stepping motors, this system delivers impressively smooth, quiet autofocus well-suited to both stills and video applications. Full-time manual focus override is also possible, and the internal focusing design maintains the lens's overall length during use and promotes faster focusing speeds.
Video optimised
As a video lens, the NIKKOR Z 24mm f/1.8 S shines as a go-to for incredibly steady handheld establishing shots, it's superb electromagnetic aperture mechanism delivers smooth exposure changes without the impression of 'stepping' when transitioning from interior to exterior during the same shot. Video recording is otherwise clean and smooth with highly minimised focus breathing and reduced wobbling.
