Note:

1. This Speed Booster is designed to cover a BMPCC4K image circle which is not big enough to cover a full-size 36mm x 24mm sensor.

2. For use with fast lenses (faster than f/1.4), the pre-boost apertures will be displayed in the camera.

   Slow lenses will report boosted apertures to the camera body but fast lenses will report pre-boost apertures. We won't show f/0.8 with a f/1.2 lens attached, but show f/1.2 instead. 

   Example:

   a) EF 85/1.2L attached, camera display = f/1.2, physical aperture  (lens + Speed Booster combined) = f/0.85.
   b) EF 35/2 attached, camera display = f/1.3, physical aperture (lens + Speed Booster combined) = f/1.3.

3. External 5V power via micro USB port may be required (not included).
4. A third party zoom lens may need to be registered with the Speed Booster/Smart Adapter first in order to detect its maximum aperture. 

5. Some improperly-made M42 screw mount adapters may short the electronic contacts of the Speed Booster and cause damage to the Speed Booster and/or camera body.

6. Many manual focus lenses (e.g. OM 28/2.8, OM 50/1.8, Leica R 15/3.5) have rear protrusions (spikes, levers, other appendages) which would damage the optics and/or housing of Speed Booster^TM They need to be modified before they can be safely used on Speed Booster^TM Check and make sure there are no rear protrusions from the adapter/lens combination before using on Speed Booster. Scratches and damages caused by rear protrusions on Speed Booster^TM are not covered by warranty.

The Metabones Canon EF to BMPCC4K T CINE Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x allows a full-frame Canon EF-mount lens to be mounted onto a Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K MFT-mount camera. While doing so, the adapter's optics help to maximize the connected lens's apparent angle of view while providing a 1-stop increase for the camera over the lens's aperture range.This 0.71x adapter features Cinema EOS lens support for auto iris and servo zoom, and it also includes AF (autofocus) support which requires external 5V power via the micro-USB port. It also features a positive-lock mechanism for EF lenses.

The BMPCC4K Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x and XL 0.64x are similar to the standard M43 Speed Booster adapters (MB_SPEF-m43-BT3 and MB_SPEF-m43-BT4) but the optics have been re-designed to optimize for the filter stack thickness of 2.4mm found in Blackmagic cameras rather than the 4mm of a standard Micro Four Thirds.

The BMPCC4K Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x reduces the crop factor of the BMPCC 4K camera from 2.02x to 1.43x.

Metabones Canon EF to BMPCC4K Speed Booster adapters are designed exclusively for Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (BMPCC4K). They cannot be attached to any other M43 cameras such as JVC, Olympus or Panasonic cameras.

If a lens intended for 35mm film or similarly sized full-frame camera sensors is connected to a camera with a Micro Four Thirds-sized sensor, it would project an image larger than the Micro Four Thirds sensor was built to accept. Able to capture only the center portion of the projected image, the effective angle of view of the lens would be narrowed, creating an in-camera "crop factor." The T Speed Booster 0.71x adapter condenses the light from a lens designed for 35mm film or "full-frame" camera sensors and projects it onto a Micro Four Thirds sensor. This allows the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K with a Micro Four Thirds sensor to utilize more of the light gathered by a connected lens, which effectively reduces the crop factor while making available to the sensor an additional 1-stop of light for each of the lens's f/stop settings.

Quality Construction

This adapter is constructed from aluminum for durability while minimizing weight and its mounting rings are made with brass to further prevent wear and tear and a detachable tripod foot is included and features 1/4"-20 threads as well as compatibility with Arca-Swiss tripod heads.

Electronic Communication Support

The T Speed Booster 0.71x adapter supports electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. If the lens includes autofocus, image stabilization, and camera-controlled aperture functions, this adapter is intended to allow those features to be used.

Also, if an attached lens is capable of generating EXIF metadata when used with a directly compatible camera, the T Speed Booster 0.71x adapter is designed to allow that information to be saved along with image files generated with a combination of the lens, a BMPCC 4K camera, and the adapter.
