The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro Lens - Leica L Mount is a 2x life-size magnification manual focus, macro lens, designed for the cropped APS-C sensor Leica L-mount mirrorless cameras, such as the Leica CL.
Macro lens often designed for DSLR / digital SLR cameras tend to be big and bulky, particularly when adapted for use on mirrorless cameras systems. The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro was designed with the mirrorless compacts in mind, designed for Fujifilm X-mount, Sony E. Users no longer need to use a big DSLR lens with adaptor. Additional this is the world’s first 2:1 macro lens (twice life size reproduction) designed specifically for mirrorless cameras.
The 65mm focal length is equivalent to around 100mm equivalent (97.5mm on 1.5x crop sensor camera), which is a useful focal length for general macro and close up photography, maintaining good camera to subject working distance. Optical construction is 14 Elements in 10 groups, with 3 Extra-Low dispersion glass elements. Minimum focus distance is 17cm (sensor to subject) to give twice life size magnification. Dimensions are 57mm diameter x 100mm length, with convenient, standard filter size of 52mm

2X macro magnification
This lens offers a 2:1 maximum magnification ratio along with a minimum focusing distance of 17cm. Different from traditional macro lenses, this 65 mm lens can focus from infinity to 2X magnification, making it an ideal option to tackle all kinds of macro photography scenarios. The wide magnification range is essential for shooting insects and plants at different sizes.

Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2X macro’s optical design incorporates 3 Extra-low Dispersion glasses to minimize chromatic aberrations across the frame. The lens has inherited the excellent APO design from Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X macro and can eliminate both lateral and longitudinal chromatic aberrations in frame, meaning that chromatic aberration at both ‘in-focus’ & ‘out-of-focus’ area is almost invisible to bare eyes.
