40.2MP BSI APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR Sensor and X-Processor 5

Housed inside the classically designed X-T5 chassis is a 40.2MP APS-C-format, backside-illuminated, X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor. The new sensor ups the resolution significantly from the 26.1MP of the X-T4 and is perfect for highly detailed work. Coupled with the high-resolution sensor is the X-Processor 5. The powerful combination delivers improved AF and IBIS performance, an enhanced sensitivity from ISO 125 and enables 10-bit 4:2:2 recording internally.

In-Body Image Stabilisation

Featuring a built-in 5-Axis stabilisation system, the X-T5 can compensate for up to 7 stops of camera shake, working to reduce the appearance movement that occurs when working handheld with slower shutter speeds and telephoto lenses.

Pixel Shift Multi-Shot

This mode effectively quadruples image resolution by capturing 20 frames in quick succession. The process utilises the camera’s advanced IBIS mechanism to shift the image sensor by half a pixel with accurate precision each time. The frames are then blended with the help of the Pixel Shift Combiner software to generate a superbly detailed 160MP image.

Advanced Subject Detection Autofocus

Subject detection AF based on Deep Learning technology works intelligently to quickly detect human faces and eyes, animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, planes and trains. The updated focusing system utilises 3.33m PDAF sensors to track subjects accurately while maintaining focus in both AF-S and AF-C modes. Utilising the additional processing speed of the X-Processor 5, the X-T5’s AF system delivers reliably fast and precise focussing results, so more attention can be given to composition and timing.

Powerful Video Capabilities

Making full use of the high-resolution sensor and fast processing speed, the X-T5 delivers a very worthy set of recording options securing its position as a top hybrid system. ​​It is capable of 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording in 6.2K 30p and 4K 120P. It can also capture 4:2:2 10bit 6.2K 30p, 4K 60p, 4K 120p and 6.2K 30p 4:2:2 12-bit RAW via the full-size HDMI port when connected to a compatible external recorder. ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW recording are supported, along with the ability to work with F-Log 2 for expanded dynamic range and high-quality movie recording.

Film Simulation Modes

Fujifilm leans into its rich film history and includes a suite of 19 Film Simulation presets based on its most loved film stocks. Users can flex their artistic expression by selecting a preset as they would a roll of film to achieve a particular aesthetic.

Body Design

FUJIFILM XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Lens

Sporting a slim and portable form factor, the FUJIFILM XF 27mm f/2.8 R WR Lens is a thin, “pancake-style” prime lens, with a focal length of 27mm, which provides users with a natural field of view that is close to what the human eye sees. This makes it suitable for a diverse range of photography styles, from everyday general use to portrait, street and landscape photography.

In terms of optics, one aspherical element is featured and helps to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations, and a Super EBC coating has also been applied to control flare and ghosting. Additionally, benefitting both photo and video applications, a high-torque DC coreless motor is used to realize quick, accurate, and near-silent autofocus performance.

The updated exterior design now and tactile exposure control, however, an 'A' position can also be used for camera-based settings adjustments. With its compact design, exceptional portability, outstanding image quality and weather-resistant features, image-makers may find themselves frequently using the XF27mm f/2.8 R WR as an everyday lens.

Thin and lightweight design combined with advanced image quality

Despite its compact size, XF 27mm f/2.8 consists of seven lens elements in five groups, including one aspherical element, which mitigates spherical aberration, field curvature, and distortion. This allows XF27mm f/2.8 to deliver advanced image resolution, even when used at its widest apertures.

XF27mm f/2.8 features a high-torque DC motor to enable fast and accurate AF, while the front lens group of five lens elements effectively maintains image quality by minimising aberrations that may occur when the lens is used for close-ups or with subjects that are further away.

One of the thinnest and lightest XF lenses in the collection, XF27mm f/2.8 R WR, measures just 62mm in diameter and is only 23mm long. The lens is very lightweight at approximately 84g, which makes it an ideal choice for assignments where compactness and overall size are a concern.

Aperture ring with F-stop scale and A-Position Lock

XF 27mm f/2.8 now features an aperture ring with an F-stop scale, so that users can visually check and adjust their aperture settings without needing to look at the camera’s screen or through its viewfinder. The aperture ring also features the A (Auto) Position Lock1, which locks the lens into the A-Position to prevent unintentional adjustments to the lens’s aperture while it is being used.

Weather-resistant construction

Weather resistance is applied at seven locations on the XF27mm f/2.8 to protect it against water and dust, and allow it to fully operate in temperatures down to -10°C.
