As a ring flash, the flash unit mounts onto the front of the lens and provides even, direct illumination of the subject while eliminating potentially distracting shadows that most flashes would cause in these situations. This unit comes with the CA-1AF adapter, which gives the flash additional TTL compatibility with Canon EOS 35mm Film cameras. For 58mm and 52mm diameter lenses, the Auto DX-8R provides full exposure accuracy. This enables macro shots of subjects in variable light because the complexities of macro exposure are easily handled by the TTL measurement.
