The multi-functional TASCAM DR-V1HD Linear PCM / HD Video Recorder is a feature-packed recorder that can capture 720p HD video, Linear PCM audio up to 24-bit / 96 kHz, and up to 0.9-megapixel still photos as well. It's equipped with a 1/4" CMOS image sensor and an F2.8 lens with 1 - 4x digital zoom capabilities. It can also capture VGA video and VGA still photos. Plus, a mini-HDMI output lets you view your footage on a large HDTV screen. You can also edit videos on the 2.4" color TFT LCD panel.
The DR-V1HD features dual condenser microphones and both the mics and the camera can rotate 180°. There's a built-in speaker, a 15 mW + 15 mW headphone amplifier, and an auto-recording function. The device runs on three AA batteries and stores your files using a microSD/microSDHC memory card up to 32GB. Other features include VSA speed control, multiple white balance modes, a slideshow function, a low-cut filter, and an LCD brightness dimmer.
Having the option to rotate the microphones and camera front and back 180° increases one's possibilities for various camera angles and placement
The DR-V1HD has the same high-quality audio circuit as the rest of the DR-series. It features an S/N ratio greater than 90dB and THD less than 0.02%. Plus, the adopted AD/DA is CIRRUS LOGIC's popular audio codec
The DR-V1HD has TASCAM's popular VSA (variable-speed-audition), which is used on a variety of other products and has become an integral function for all of the DR recorders. The VSA provides speed control without changing pitch (50-150%)
The DR-V1HD has three (movie, audio, photograph) operation modes. The photograph mode offers the ability to take still photos, view them separately, or view them in a slideshow and link any audio files on the device to a single snapshot
Powered by three AA batteries, the DR-V1HD (in HD mode) will capture up to 4.5 hours of continuous video shooting. In SD mode, it will capture up to 5.5 hours of continuous video shooting
Designed for use in a variety of environments, the DR-V1HD offers different settings to accommodate one's surroundings. Some of the options include white balance adjustments designed for Stage Light, Bulb Light, FL Light, Sunlight, and Cloudy. It also features auto white-balance
The DR-V1HD has the same high-quality mounted uni-directional condenser microphones as the highly acclaimed DR-2d
TASCAM understands the importance of input level adjustment and uses rotary volume control to provide the ability to fine-tune one's settings
A mic-unit, even uni-directional, needs sufficient space from all angles to gather "real" sound. TASCAM has made sure to supply enough space around its mic units to achieve the highest quality sound and designed a specific support arm for this reason
A converted audio signal is affected by electrical noise. So, to ensure you're getting the highest quality sounds TASCAM placed a metal plate under the mic units to guard against the noise. In addition, the metal meshes around the mic units help with this as well
