An advanced 30MP full-frame sensor provides increased resolution and finer detail, enabling the capture of a wide range of scenes, from landscapes to portraits. Higher-speed continuous shooting also offers expanded creative possibilities. The sensor's advanced architecture offers a huge native ISO range of 100-32,000, expandable to 102,400, making it possible to capture clean, high-quality pictures, even in extreme low-light conditions. Along with these improvements to image quality, users will enjoy a performance boost across the board with an enhanced AF system, built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS, and much more.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV builds on the reputation of the EOS 5D Mark IIIs video capabilities and now boasts 4K video performance. Designed for both professional stills shooting and video recording, the 5D Mark IV supports DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution recording at up to 30 fps at 500 Mbps, along with Full HD 1080p shooting at 60 fps and HD 720p at 120 fps for slow motion playback. When recording in-camera, 4K video has 4:2:2 sampling and 8-bit colour depth, while Full HD 1080p footage has 4:2:0 sampling. Uncompressed Full HD 1080p video can also be saved via HDMI to an optional external recorder with 4:2:2 colour sampling. 4K video is recorded using a central 4096 x 2160 sensor area at a 1.74x crop to record video with an ideal 1:1 pixel sampling ratio, while Full HD recording uses the entire full frame.

Audio can be recorded using the onboard stereo microphone or an optional external mic via the 3.5mm mic jack. Real-time audio monitoring is also possible via the 3.5mm headphone jack. The 4K video recording allows you to take 8.8MP still frame grabs during playback on the rear touchscreen and save them as single images.

The EOS 5D Mark IV utilises the same 61-point wide-area AF system as the flagship EOS-1D X, offering exceptional sensitivity, precision, and speed. It is one of the most advanced AF systems currently available. Now, with improved low-light performance, the 5D Mark IV can accurately focus at up to -3 EV.
