The two neutral density filters are each encased within a durable and lightweight filter frame. By encasing the sides of a filter, the filter frames help to eliminate or limit stray light, which could have unwanted effects on exposure, from coming in between a filter placed within the filter holder, as well as the filter holder and the lens behind it. Additionally, the filter frames reinforce rigidity of the neutral density filters while preventing their sides from having to come into direct contact with the filter holder's slots.
