The Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 II Lens is both compact and light weight despite its large f/1.7 brightness which creates a beautiful soft focus and makes your photos even more impressive. Comprising of 7 lenses in 5 groups, the lens system uses 2 aspherical lenses to minimize distortion and chromatic aberrations (colour fringing), achieving high resolution corner to corner.
The versatile 20mm focal distance (40mm in 35mm camera terms) is suitable for a wide variety of occasions from daily snapshots including sunsets and dimly lit indoor shots to the deliberately creative shots taking advantage of its 7 bladed circular aperture which offers a beautiful soft focus effect. When mounted on the LUMIX G Micro System Cameras, the LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7 lens allows the use of the advanced contrast AF system, including the Face Recognition function, for more convenient, more enjoyable shooting.
The optical design consists of seven lenses in five groups with two aspherical elements to counteract distortion and chromatic aberrations. The 20mm focal length is equivalent to 40mm on a 35mm camera, providing a good, general-purpose lens that can be used for many types of subjects. Seven aperture blades close to a rounded aperture for attractive bokeh at wide aperture settings, while multi-coatings minimise the incidence of flare and ghosting.
Two aspherical elements minimize both distortion and chromatic aberration. The lens supports the Contrast AF system for high precision auto focusing. Multi-coated elements minimize ghosting and flare to further enhance image quality, and minimum focusing distance is 20 cm. The Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 II features a durable metal mount and body, as well as a 46mm filter diameter
