The NU17 is controlled by two push-button switches on the top of the lamp, one for white-light settings and one for red. Charging the headlamp is as simple as plugging in the micro-USB cable; a full charge takes about 2 hours and provides runtimes ranging from 6 hours on high to 150 hours on ultra-low. A power indicator in the switches keeps you apprised of the battery's status. Designed to withstand the elements, the NU17's housing is made of lightweight but durable polycarbonate carries an IP66 water-resistance rating, and is rated impact resistant to 1 meter.
