Kase 112mm KW Revolution Magnetic ND64 Filter (6-Stop)

The Kase 112mm KW Revolution Magnetic ND64 Filter is part of Kase's colour-coded KW Revolution filter system, which is based on their earlier Wolverine series and is fully compatible with Wolverine filters. The overall KW Revolution system features CPL and different grades of ND filters, all with colour-coded filter frames for easy identification and swapping. The ND64 filters, including this 112mm version, are colour-coded yellow.

The filter is made with shock-resistant and water-resistant optical glass that's durable and easy to clean, and that doesn't cause any colour cast. Also, in addition to being magnetic, the filter is front-threaded. This is one of the differences between the KW Revolution series and the earlier Wolverine series.

Key Features of the Kase 112mm KW Revolution Magnetic ND64 Filter (6-Stop)

• While the overall KW Revolution features both a standard magnetic adapter and an inlaid magnetic adapter, this single filter comes only with an inlaid magnetic adapter. Very slim, the inlaid adapter screws into your lens in a very recessed way. It secures the front filter threads very close to the front lens element and is nearly hidden within the filter thread area. It hardly leaves any space between the lens and the filter. This results in minimized vignetting with wide-angle lenses when you attach the filter. The filter snaps onto the adapter magnetically. Up to four filters can be stacked in total, both from this KW Revolution series and from the earlier Wolverine series, and the filters can be freely rotated.
• When your filters are removed from the inlaid adapter, the adapter doesn't interfere with attaching the original lens cap to the front of your lens. Similarly, regular screw-in filters can be screwed onto the lens filter threads even with the adapter installed. Also, instead of securing directly to the lens, the inlaid adapter can be screwed onto the front threads of regular screw-in filters. The filter can then be screwed onto your lens, and the inlaid adapter will then be on the front of the filter, and you can then magnetically attach KW Revolution and Wolverine filters onto it. The benefit of this flexibility is that it allows you to mount the KW Revolution filters on top of regular screw-in filters that you may want at the bottom of your stack.
• The inlaid adapter is not compatible with step rings.
• There are a few ways to screw in the ultra-slim inlaid adapter. The main way is to first attach it magnetically to this ND filter and then screw in both by hand. Then you can remove the filter or stack additional ones onto it. You can also attach the optional Kase magnetic lens hood.
