As a colour-accurate 4k UHD monitor with USB-C connectivity, the Eizo ColorEdge CS2740 27" 4K Monitor With USB Type-C - Black is perfect for those who need a detail-oriented, comfortable, and creative workflow - whether in the fields of photography, video editing, or design.
EIZO designed the ColorEdge CS2740 with an anti-glare panel, a native resolution of 3840 x 21600, In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, 10-bit support for 1.07 billion colours, a 16-bit LUT, a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, a static contrast ratio of 1000:1, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 164 pixels per inch, and a 10 ms (GtG) response time. Using the 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, it is possible to watch content from virtually any position. This display has one HDMI input and one DisplayPort input. There is also a USB Type-C port that supports DP alt mode, data transfers of up to 5 Gb/s using the USB 3.1 Gen 1 standard, and up to 60W of power for device charging. Additional USB ports include one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-B input, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A outputs with 0.9A of charging power per port, and two USB 2.0 Type-A outputs with 0.5A of charging power per port.
The ColorEdge CS2740 has been engineered to support 99% of the Adobe RGB and 103% of the NTSC colour gamuts. To further help improve viewing and accessibility, it features a vertical tilt of -5 to 35°, a left/right swivel of 344° (±172°), a clockwise rotation of 90°, and a height adjustment of 6.1". This monitor also supports hardware calibration through a separately purchased calibration sensor.
The ColorEdge CS2740 is the first CS series monitor to implement 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), which is four times the size of Full HD. The remarkable detail ensures that high-resolution photos and other content are displayed crisply. The 27-inch screen provides ample space for easily displaying Full HD content in full with enough space to show toolbars, palettes, and other windows or applications simultaneously. This makes the monitor versatile for photos, video editing, design, and other types of creative work up to 4K.
Minimized Reflections with Non-Glare Panel
The monitor is equipped with an IPS non-glare panel for high visibility. It also uses dimming technology to minimize flicker and help prevent eye fatigue for a more comfortable working environment.
I/P Conversion for Flicker-Free Display
The HDMI input supports I/P (interlace/progressive) conversion for converting the interlace signals from TV and video into progressive signals for flicker-free display.
Optional Light-Shielding Hood
An optional light-shielding hood is available that effectively prevents glare on the monitor's screen caused by ambient lighting. The hood attaches to the monitor magnetically, allowing users to set it up quickly and easily without needing to connect separate parts.
Multiple Inputs
The ColorEdge CS2740 is equipped with HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. In addition to USB Type-C, it also has a USB Type-B and four USB Type-A ports.
A conventional monitor displays in Full HD with just 96 ppi. The ColorEdge CS2740 boasts a pixel density nearly twice that at an incredible 164 ppi for a 4K image display that has never looked smoother. Alphanumeric characters and contours are distinguished with excellent sharpness so you can check even the finest details without needing to zoom in.
The ColorEdge CS2740 features USB Type-C connectivity with 60 W power delivery. With a single USB Type-C cable, you can display video, transmit USB signals, and supply power to a connected device such as a smartphone or notebook PC. Simply plug in and get creative without worrying about additional cable clutter.
The 178° wide viewing angles afforded by the IPS panel technology allow two or more people to view the screen at once with little change in colour or contrast.
Adjust the screen to the most comfortable angle and reposition it to show your work to a colleague or client. The monitor comes with a versatile stand that offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustments as well as a portrait display. The stand is also equipped with a quick release that allows you to easily remove the screen from the stand with one touch.
The wide colour gamut reproduces almost the entire Adobe® RGB colour space so images shot in Adobe RGB will be displayed correctly. Photos of vibrant blue skies and lush green forests are reproduced faithfully in a way that monitors limited to an sRGB colour space cannot display. The wide colour gamut also ensures the reproduction of almost the entire ISO-coated and US web-coated CMYK colour spaces used in printing.
Adjusted at the Factory for Smooth Colour Gradations
The gamma level for each ColorEdge monitor is adjusted at the factory by measuring the R, G, and B gamma values from 0 - 255, then using the monitor's 16-bit look-up-table (LUT) to select the most appropriate tones and achieve the desired value. This ensures the smoothest colour gradations in your images.
Screen Uniformity
LCD monitors commonly exhibit fluctuations in brightness and chromaticity across the screen, affecting colour accuracy. To counter this, ColorEdge monitors are equipped with EIZO's patented digital uniformity equalizer (DUE) technology which corrects deviations in every tone across the screen to ensure stable display.
Using the DisplayPort or HDMI inputs, the monitor offers a 10-bit simultaneous display* from a 16-bit look-up-table (LUT) which means it can show more than one billion colours simultaneously. This is 64 times more colours than you get with an 8-bit display, resulting in smooth colour gradations and reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colours.
EIZO offers optional HLG and PQ curves for the ColorEdge CS2740 as an upgrade. The optimized gamma curves render images to appear more true to how the human eye perceives the real world compared to SDR.
ColorNavigator 7 Software
ColorNavigator 7 is the latest calibration and quality control software for ColorEdge colour management monitors. It combines all the features of EIZO's previous colour management software, ColorNavigator 6 and ColorNavigator NX, to create a new and improved solution for creatives in a range of fields. The proprietary software performs hardware calibration by directly utilizing the LUT (look-up-table) of the monitor for higher precision and better gradation characteristics compared to software calibration.
Even with all the right equipment, colour matching can be a tedious process - from monitor adjustment to determining the best retouch software and printer settings - achieving an accurate print takes a great deal of time. Quick Color Match greatly simplifies the process by automatically adjusting to the ideal monitor, retouching software, and printer settings so you can focus on editing your photos and printing your work quickly and hassle-free. Simply drag and drop your photo in the Quick Color Match window to automatically start the process.
