The Panasonic HDC-HS900 Camcorder features Panasonic’s 3MOS image sensor system that incorporates three 1/4.1-inch CMOS sensors delivering outstanding image quality

The Panasonic HDC-HS900 includes an advanced sensor array (for a total pixel count of 9.15 megapixels) and an improved processor called Crystal Engine PRO. Panasonic claims this new processor reduces noise by 45% (compared to Panasonic’s conventional models), and should produce better images in low-light conditions.

The F1.5 Leica Dicomar Lens on all four new models is manufactured using measuring instruments and quality assurance systems that have been certified by Leica Camera AG. This lens not only suppresses ghosts and flaring, but also minimises the distortion and degradation of contrast and resolution that tend to occur at the lens periphery. Thanks to a large 46-mm diameter, the F1.5 lens offer brighter images than previous lenses. In addition, its 35mm wide-angle capability makes it ideal for many different shooting situations, such as self-portraits and group photos indoors and landscape shots outdoors.

The advanced image sensor system, the 3MOS Sensor, separates the light received through the lens into the three primary colours—red, green and blue—and processes each colour independently. As a result, it offers beautiful images with significantly better colour quality, detail and gradation than conventional sensor systems.

The HDC-HS900 features the evolved Crystal Engine PRO, which instantly processes the huge amount of data that goes into full-HD quality for extremely clear, crisp motion images that exceed even full-HD 1920 x 1080-pixel images. The evolved Crystal Engine PRO increases sensitivity and reduces low-frequency noise to achieve bright images with minimal noise when shooting under low light conditions. This maximizes the 3MOS features of excellent colour reproduction, high resolution, and rich gradation, and lets the user capture vividly coloured images in either bright or darkly lit places.

The New HYBRID O.I.S. is a hybrid optical and electrical image stabilisation system. In addition to the blurring caused by vertical or horizontal wrist movements, these camcorders can also detect the subtle blurring that occurs when the entire arm moves vertically or horizontally.

The detected blurring is corrected using a lens in the optical system and a sensor in the electrical system. In electrical image stabilisation, an area of the sensor that remains unused during zooming is used. This makes it possible to suppress image degradation. Powerful correction is also achieved during high-powered zooming, which allows users to capture beautiful images even when shooting on the move or while zooming, where blurring from hand-shake is common.

The Panasonic HDC-HS900 is equipped with a 12x optical zoom which includes a multitude of technical features. With a manual focus ring, Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), Hot Shoe and mic terminal – this camcorder is fully equipped to handle your shooting needs!

The HDC-HS900  features not only 3.5-inch LCDs, the largest ever mounted on a camcorder, but also new touch-operation functions. The large-screen LCD with touch operation offers easier operation than previous models. In addition to the single-handed variable speed zooming of previous models, the new “Touch Zoom” function provides stable zooming while recording.

The user simply touches an indication on the LCD to activate slow zooming, thus enabling smooth, optimal adjustment of the angle of view. Another touch-operation function is the “Touch Shutter,” which automatically focuses and takes a still picture when the user touches the subject on the screen. The user can also change thumbnail pages by sliding a fingertip across the screen. This kind of advanced touch operation provides much smoother shooting and playback than in previous models.

The HDC-HS900 has a 220GB internal hard drive and it can record to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. Also, The HDC-HS900 include Panasonic’s Hybrid Optical Image Stabilizer, Intelligent Auto controls, and a 12x optical zoom lens.

Hybrid Full-HD Camcorder featuring Advanced 3MOS System and 3D technology
Panasonic brings you the amazing HDC-HS900 3MOS High Definition Camcorder with 220GB HDD. Boasting a host of technical specifications such as full HD recording (1920 x 1080, 50 progressive scan), 3D shooting via an optional 3D conversion lens, an ultra wide 35mm wide-angle lens, the renowned advanced 3MOS system and newly developed HYBRID O.I.S, this camcorder is the perfect feature packed solution.

Advanced 3MOS System and Leica Dicomar lens for outstanding image quality
The HS900's high-sensitivity 3MOS system achieves 11.49 million effective motion image pixels (3.83 megapixels x 3). This new image sensor offers beautiful images with significantly better colour quality, detail and gradation than the 1MOS sensor system.

Full-HD progressive recording with SDXC/SDHC/SD memory card recording
Progressive recording conveys about twice the information of 1080i (interlace) recording to produce the ultimate beauty in image quality, even exceeding conventional Full-HD images, and minimises afterimages and flickering caused by subject motion. A 64GB SDXC card (optional) can record approximately 27 hours and 30 minutes of 1920 x 1080i High Definition video in HE mode, and approximately 5 hours 20 minutes of 1920 x 1080p full High Definition video in 1080/50p mode.

3D image shooting with the 3D conversion lens

Dynamic 3D content can now be created and experienced first hand using Panasonic’s optional 3D conversion lens, the VW-CLT1. In natural vision, people see slightly different images with their right and left eyes. This visual disparity is artificially produced for 3D images so that the brain will interpret it as depth and solid-appearing objects. The VW-CLT1 records right-eye and left-eye images simultaneously through its two lenses. The right and left images (each with 960 x 1080 pixels) that enter through the lenses are recorded using the side-by-side method.
