Panasonic Australia announces the new Lumix DMC-FZ47Thursday, July 28, 2011

Panasonic Australia has updated its FZ series of superzoom cameras with the Lumix DMC-FZ47. Featuring a 24x image stabilized lens with Nano Surface Coating to minimize light reflection that causes ghosting and flare, a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor and full-HD movies.

The Panasonic Lumix FZ47 can produce high-speed, large-capacity signal processing for 1920 x 1080 full-HD video in AVCHD as well as high-speed continuous shooting. The Lumix FZ47 can take consecutive shots at 3.7fps at 12.1-megapixel and a maximum of 10fps at 3-megapixel. With Panasonic’s Sonic Speed AF, the FZ47 has a super fast start-up time, approximately 35% faster than its predecessor.

The Lumix FZ47’s full-HD video capability is complemented with the high-quality Dolby Digital stereo sound to offer extremely realistic audio. And with a Wind Cut function, the Lumix FZ47 reduces noise from background wind automatically.  Simultaneously while shooting video, users can take a 3.5-megapixel still photo.

For those users who would prefer not to change any settings, the Panasonic FZ47 features Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto mode which chooses the best setting based on the shooting environment.

The Panasonic LUMIX FZ47 will be available for $557.
