Online digital camera retailer, DigiDirect Australia has announced record third quarter sales, showing the recession has not affected the Sydney-based company at all. This is welcome news; especially considering a hot product - the Canon EOS 500D Digital SLR Camera - will be released in the coming month with pre-orders already under way.
DigiDirect Australia's third quarter result is especially strong, considering it is on the back of a record second quarter after solid festive season purchasing.
"People are buying online more than ever," said DigiDirect Managing Director Shant Kradjian, who also has live retail business interests. "Consumers are realising that the internet is a global marketplace, thus online businesses have global competitors, forcing us to sell at lowest possible prices."
Despite selling at low prices, Kradjian and his DigiDirect digital camera sales team, which operates very professionally out of offices in Bondi Junction, say they could not be happier with the results.
Kradjian added: "It has been great. The dive in the Australian dollar has resulted in grey market importers of digital cameras taking a real jolt; allowing those of us who sell with Australian warranties to gain market ascendancy. It is a cycle which has us on top at the moment."
DigiDirect.com.au prides itself on the quick release of hot products, and the sale of these products at hot prices.
The business has already ordered a massive number of Canon's latest release sure to engage entry-level photographers, the EOS 500D digital SLR camera. Kradjian has opened pre-orders of the EOS 500D to customers, and is expecting orders to flow through to immediate effect.
"We have a huge following of regulars," he said. "I think we will pre-sell our entire load of Canon EOS 500D cameras before they even arrive at our warehouse. The interest has been amazing; with everybody waiting for an official release date which Canon has now confirmed will be in May."
Online shopping price comparison website Shopbot has DigiDirect Australia selling the Canon EOS 500D at the cheapest retail price of all advertising Australian companies.
