The CX4 sports a wide-angle lens with a 10.7x optical zoom lens, f/3.5-5.6 brightness, and a 3-inch LCD with a resolution of 920,000 dots. Also, the CX4's key points are its improved image stabilization matrix and subject-tracking autofocus. The CX4's 28-300mm lens has an image sensor-shift stabilization feature that reduces blur by an average of 3.7 shutter speed stops. This camera includes creative filters and a Night landscape multi-shot mode.

The CX4 is capable of capturing HD video (1280 x 720 pixels). It also supports a burst shooting rate of 5 frames per second. For macro photography enthusiasts, the CX4 can capture images as close as 1cm.

The camera can shoot HD video (1280 x 720 pixels) and record 5 frames per second in rapid serial mode. It is equipped with 11 scene modes, Night landscape multi-shot "in which the digital camera records a sequence of several pictures, and then combines them into one photo, blur-free images and other defects.

Ricoh CX4 supports SD / SDHC, and is powered by a lithium-ion battery that allows 330 shots per charge.

Back-illuminated CMOS sensor + Smooth Imaging Engine IV
The CX4 boasts a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor combined with advanced Smooth Imaging Engine IV image processing. Poorly-lit indoor or night scenes are rendered in pure, unblemished quality, as of course are brightly-lit subjects. An output pixel interpolation algorithm residing in dedicated logic circuits in the imaging engine reduces loss of detail in highlights to faithfully recreate high-contrast scenes exactly as they appear to the naked eye.
