This camera delivers exceptionally high quality pictures and movies at an affordable price. At just 19.3mm deep the stylish VR-310 benefits from an incredible 10x super wide powerful optical zoom (24-240mm), allowing users to take superb group shots or capture distant objects in great detail. 10x zoom lens
Olympus have managed to squeeze a 10x super wide optical zoom lens (24-240mm) into a camera this slim and compact camera. At just 19.3mm deep the Olympus VR-310 is significantly slimmer than comparable rivals - and offers all the versatility of a powerful wide zoom lens. Users can pull out for broad group shots or zoom in on distant objects that lesser cameras simply can’t capture with any level of detail. With 14 Megapixel resolution and movie recording in 720p High Definition, Olympus’ trademark pixel-rich quality is a given - even when images are viewed on a large-screen TV.

AF tracking
The new Olympus VR-310 camera’s light and super-compact design makes it a pleasure to carry, hold and use. What’s more, the ergonomic layout of the controls and a full complement of intelligent Olympus technologies mean it’s easier than ever to capture and enjoy excellent photos and HD movies worry-free. Dual Image Stabilisation counteracts camera shake to virtually eliminate blur while AF Tracking and the three-inch colour LCD make it simple to frame and capture good shots - and fun to review them afterwards. AF Tracking even keeps subjects in focus who move in and out of the frame. Other clever features like i-Auto, Scene Mode and Shadow Adjustment Technology automatically adapt settings to different conditions or subjects.

7 Magic Filters
The Olympus VR-310 comes with seven of the fun Magic Filters featured on Olympus’ high-end cameras, so users can add striking special effects to their photos directly on-camera - without splashing out on a model with a lot of features they’d probably never use. Magic Filter options range from Soft Focus and Fish Eye to Pop Art, Punk and the new Sparkle filter that adds twinkling reflections to shiny objects. Whichever effect users choose, Magic Filters make it simple to create unique-looking shots without the hassle of retouching images on a computer

Face Detection
Face Detection technology searches for faces in a composition and recognizes them as the main subject. It then automatically puts them in focus and optimally adjusts exposure to create an image that’s sharp in the right places and ideally exposed. Face Detection Technology on the Olympus VR-310 can detect up to 12 faces. AF Tracking tracks a moving subject automatically and keeps it continually in focus - for optimally focused and exposed pictures. The Olympus VR-310 even memorizes the subject when it goes out of frame and resumes tracking when it reappears.

Record HD movies
Providing two-fold protection, Dual Image Stabilisation helps to avoid image blur caused by camera shake or fast-moving subjects. It combines high ISO values with a CCD-based mechanical image stabilizer, where a built-in gyro sensor detects camera movement and adjusts the CCD accordingly. High Definition video (HD video) delivers a high-quality movie experience when played back on an HD TV. In HD Movie Mode, the Olympus camera captures HD video using the advanced AVI Motion JPEG movie compression format at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a rate of 30 frames per second.

Shadow adjustment technology
Scene Mode offers a choice of different scenes to suit the subject being captured, for example, landscape, night, beach and snow or pet. The Olympus VR-310 camera automatically adjusts a host of parameters to achieve the best possible result for the chosen scene. Shadow Adjustment Technology (SAT) is designed to improve exposure for pictures with dark areas. Using a sensor that works much like the human eye, dark parts of a composition (e.g., a shadow under a tree) are identified and the camera then adjusts the exposure settings accordingly for those areas. The result is a more realistic and detailed picture.
