The Canon EF 1.4x II Extender is an easy and very affordable way to dramatically extend the reach (focal length) of compatible Canon L Series lenses

The Canon EF 1.4x II Extender mounts between the compatible lens and body, and multiplies the focal length settings of your lens by 1.4. Extenders do not affect the MFD (Minimum Focus Distance) of the lens they are mounted behind, thus the MM (Maximum Magnification) of the lens is also multiplied by 1.4x.

Canon EF Extenders are the ideal accessories for photographers who wish to increase the power and versatility of their existing lenses. EF Extenders work by increasing the distance between the film plane (or CCD) and the rear element of the lens. The extra distance increases the effective focal length of the lens to bring distant subjects closer. Canon EF Extenders are specially designed for many of Canon's large aperture EF lenses and retain all metering and AF functions with most of these.

Key Features

- Outstanding optical performance that visually matches the images quality of the host lens.
- Maintains AF operation
- Maintains IS operation. - High level water and dust resistance equivelant to the EOS-1D and Super Telephoto L Series IS lens range
- O-ring seals protect the mounts and release lever

Camera Compatibility

- Autofocus is possible on any EOS camera when combined with a lens having an f/4 or faster maximum aperture.
- If the lens is attached to an EOS camera having multiple focusing points and an extender attached, only the center focusing point will be usable for AF.
- When attached to the EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM lens, the autofocusing range is from 2.6' (0.8 m) to infinity. It varies slightly with the EOS-1v, EOS-1n, EOS-1 and EOS-3.
- When attached to the EF 400mm f/4L DO ISM lens or the EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 lens, autofocus is possible with the center focus point only with EOS 1Ds Mark II, EOS 1Ds Mark III, EOS 1D Mark II, EOS 1D Mark III, EOS 1D, EOS 1v and EOS 3.
- When attached to the EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM autofocus is possible with the center focus point only with EOS 1Ds Mark II, EOS 1Ds, EOS 1D Mark II N, EOS 1D Mark II, EOS 1v HS and EOS 3.
