In what will sound like music to entry-level photographers' ears, Canon has announced details of their latest Digital SLR to service this market - the high-powered EOS 500D.

 

The Canon EOS 500D arrives as the next step up from the EOS 450D, which was a winner of multiple awards in entry-level categories.

Canon's official statement describes the EOS 500D as a DSLR "for passionate photographers upgrading from their mid to high range digital compact camera or first generation DSLR cameras".

To stay "familiar" for entry-level photographers, the EOS 500D includes common digital compact camera features, such as Live View and Face Detection.

Its "something innovative" is Full HD video recording!

The release date is early May, and DigiDirect.com.au is allowing for pre-orders by clicking here.
