2011 saw a number of quality digital cameras released on to the market. The latest addition is the Fujifilm X10 which follows the Fujifilm X100. Although there are certainly similarities between the 2 models, the Fujifilm X10 certainly warrants a review in its own right

1) The Retro Look – We loved the retro feeling of Fujifilm X10. The front looks and feels like old school Point and Shoot cameras with the same classic black leather case. The way Fuji has merged classic attributes with modern technology to create this unique look is really astounding.
2) Easy to Use Manual Controls – Point and shoot cameras are not for the hardcore professionals, hence while writing digital camera reviews for a P&S, I can’t complain about lack of SLR functionality. Fujifilm X10 certainly is a user-friendly device and is designed to make it convenient even for a novice, it does what it was designed to do and then some. In our opinion Fujifilm X10 is a cross of SLR and Point and Shoot as it shows some great SLR features including: 2/3-inch EXR CMOS sensor, EXR Processor, 99 different shooting modes, Optical Image Stabilization, 49-point matrix contrast auto focus and HD video shooting for example.

3) Price and Performance Matters – Some digital camera reviews seem to ignore price. For those writers money may not be a point to bother about, but for you and me the price/ performance debate is a big consideration. When paying $600 for a point and shoot camera, you rightly expect high quality performance from your Fujifilm X10. In this regard the Fujifilm X10 certainly delivers the performance expected from a camera in this price range.
4) Picture Perfect –Fujifilm X10 has successfully conserved the legacy of offering images of amazing quality. You can choose from ISO100 to ISO12800 depending on the light factor, and you can shoot a video of 1920x180 pixels with a 30 fps speed.

In conclusion, Fujifilm X10 gets a solid thumbs up from digiDirect. Contact us today to give it your own test drive
